Carson was introduced to the design process at an early age by his father who was a packaging designer in New York City. Possessing an instinct for problem solving and a curiosity of how things are made lead Carson to study industrial design. After graduating from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia Carson moved to New York and worked for several design firms before starting his own consulting business. Carson has received many awards and acknowledgements for his inspiration and original designs.

He is an excellent creative resource with a refined aesthetic sense, digital 3D modeling skills and knowledge in all areas of materials and processes. Experience in ethnographic research and analysis combined with visualization and building techniques to create stimulus provides the ability to uncover insights for strategic innovation. Participation in research, project management, concept creation and development with agencies, companies and manufacturers has provided the experience of working with people in interdisciplinary situations. This skill set combined with over 25 years of consulting makes a valuable resource for a variety of design challenges.

His contributions to merchandising projects for the cosmetic, consumer electronics, recreational, food and pharmaceutical industries has brought increased brand awareness at point of purchase. Innovative structural packaging and product design programs which include bottle design, boxboard structures and thermoformed plastics have incorporated sustainability and improved and increased functionality while defining a brand's image.

In addition to consulting Carson teaches and lectures at educational institutions. Through his inspirational presentations students are taught how to explore processes that unite design with an understanding of manufacturing to create informed holistic solutions.
